Marcus Osmond Smart?(March 6, 1994- ) was a McDonald's All-American and considered the premier prep shooting guard coming out of high?school. He played two years of college ball at Oklahoma State, where he twice earned First Team All-Big 12 honors and was named Big-12 Player of the Year in 2013. The Boston Celtics selected Smart with the sixth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He came off the bench in his first three NBA seasons?and finally earned a starting role in 2018. Today he is considered one of the NBA's most effective defenders. He is a multiple NBA All-Defensive First Team member, earned the NBA Hustle Award in 2018-2019 and 2021-2022,?and was named the 2021-2022?NBA Defensive Player of the Year.??
